Why Get Involved

Why should I get involved?

Beyond the obvious moral and social reasons behind caring for the homeless, the consequences of homelessness effects everyone as it diminishes the strength of a community. The Placer Consortium on Homelessness and Affordable Housing states, “Beyond the toll that homelessness exacts in terms of human misery and lost potential, the cost of homelessness expends a disproportionate amount of limited community resources. Homelessness not only deprives us of the full engagement of people in our community, but it is cost-ineffective to maintain.” Acres of Hope believes that each person can do his/her part with the resources they’ve received as blessings.
