Come Celebrate our Graduate!

Sarah and her two adorable daughters, Breanna and Alyssa are officially graduating from Acres of Hope this month! Sarah came to Acres over a year ago without custody of her daughters and struggling with physical, emotional and spiritual health.  She has now completed all the program requirements, is enrolled full time at Sierra Community College, has just rented a cute little cottage, and is on her way to a new way of life!

Sarah’s greatest success, by far, is her deep reliance and faith in God.  She was given the word ‘Courage’ as a personal goal when she came into the program, because she had so little self-worth and struggled with standing up for herself. The staff at Acres is in complete agreement that Sarah has more than fulfilled her ‘word’ and is a testimony to how a one’s life can be changed when truly surrendered to God.

Please show your support and join us at Acres of Hope on Saturday,  June 26th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to share in the celebration!  Sarah has basic needs for her new home and is registered at Target under the name Sarah Nichols, Graduation. The direct link to her list is here.

3rd Annual Poker Run

A HUGE thank you to George Boyse of Bayside Adventure Sports, who organized and facilitated the 3rd annual Poker Run for Acres of Hope! Nearly 30 riders participated in the event.  We appreciate Roseville Yamaha's  great hospitality by providing beverages and baked goods at the starting point.  After the ride through the gorgeous Sierra Foothills, the riders came to Acres of Hope and were treated to delicious burgers and dogs, barbecued by the Meadow Vista Lions Club!  What a day it was!  Such a sense of camaraderie and fun as the moms and kids at Acres had a chance to meet some new friends.  Thank you to all who participated!

A 100 Mile Ride Benefits Acres of Hope

Thank you to the Sacramento Wheelmen, who hosted the Sierra Century Bike Ride on June 5!  This 100 mile ride involved a first time 'give back' opportunity for the riders. Acres of Hope was chosen as the recipient of a raffle at the end of the ride, which included a LaPierre Bicycle, donated by Patriot Bicycles.

Sierra Reach Ministries was one of the rest stops for the racers, and several of our Acres of Hope moms served the bikers as they took a short break.

Acres of Hope received a check for $2,500 for this event and developed some great friends along the way.  A special thank you to Curt and Ginny Taylor, for choosing Acres of Hope as the recipient,   (and our friends Art and Carol who really know how to handle a rest stop! :)

BAGC Shoot for Funds

BAGC is an awesome trap shooting club for women, and when Acres was contacted months ago to be the recipient of the benefits of a Trap Shoot, we just didn't realize what a benefit it would be, financially as well as developing new relationships.  We are so blessed by the kindness of women in our community as all the proceeds of the tournament benefited Acres of Hope.  Thank you and hope to see you all up at Acres of Hope soon…

Real Estate Referral Opportunities

Real Estate market heats up, Acres of Hope would like to give you an opportunity to refer anyone you know who is buying or selling to Tiffany our development director.  Tiffany has gathered up a team of experienced Realtors in the Sacramento, Placer and El Dorado counties that will give Acres of Hope a referral fee on every closed transaction we provide them.  If you already have an Realtor you use, please have them contact Tiffany at 530-878-8030 ext. 224 and she will send them information to see if they are interested in blessing Acres of Hope with a referral fee.  We are excited about this new program and like to provide our Acres of Hope supporters with as many services as possible. As the
