POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Acres of Hope is a spiritually-based renewal center serving homeless women with children by providing them with a home and an environment of structured programming. Acres of Hope’s unique approach allows residents to live onsite for up to two years while staff and volunteers provide encouragement, practical life-skills training, job skills, mentoring and spiritual direction.

Program Supervisor

Reports to:

Classification:
Part-Time Non-Exempt (generally 24 hours per week)
Schedule:
Various Shifts - Flexible Schedule
Rate of Pay:
$12.00 per hour

Summary: Provide supervision and oversight of residents and carry out activities in the program schedule. Assist residents to understand and follow Acres of Hope policies and guidelines. Must be able to relate to the residents in a compassionate, grace­-based manner coupled with the ability to be firm on expectations. Must be able to manage multiple tasks calmly.

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified such as: recovery programs, social services for women and children, or similar opportunities to gain skills in relating to and working with at­-risk and/or homeless populations. Basic computer skills (internet, email, word processing) also required.

*Acres of Hope is a 24/7 operation and flexibility is required. Additional hours may be assigned as needed for extra coverage and/or in case of emergency, vacations or illnesses. This position includes working holidays as needed.

Children's Program Assistant

Various Shifts Available - Monday thru Friday, mornings or afternoon; and Thursday evening
Rate of Pay:
$11.00 per hour

Summary: The Children’s Program is designed to care for children ages birth to 12 years who have been homeless and may have suffered abuse and/or neglect. While the primary focus is on the care for the child(ren), interaction with the mother facilitates a family development approach. Primary emphasis with younger children on increasing language and motor skills that may be delayed due to environmental factors. For older children the focus is on development of emotional growth with primary emphasis on building self-esteem and a relationship of trust.

Minimum Qualifications: Prefer at least 12 Early Childhood Education credits and at least two years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Basic computer skills: internet, email, word processing.

PLACER FAMILY HOUSING BENEFITS

Qualified positions receive paid sick leave, paid vacation leave and a paid dental insurance plan. Qualification is based on the number of regularly scheduled hours per week for each position. For some benefits, 30 hours per week is considered full time. Placer Family Housing does not offer a medical health insurance plan.
