Charity Classic Golf Benefit: Selects Acres of Hope

Come and support Acres of Hope by enjoying a premier golf and dining event!

Acres of Hope has been selected as one of three non-profit beneficiaries of the
2013 ClubCorp Charity Classic Golf Tournament to be held May 17, 2013, at the Granite Bay Golf Club.

The Charity Classic is a part of the world’s largest golf and dining event that will take place at over 130 ClubCorp private clubs throughout the US. In the past six years, more than 66,000 participants have helped ClubCorp raise nearly $12 million for various charities.

11 a.m. | Golf Tournament Registration and Lunch
5 p.m. | Wine Tasting, Dinner, Dance, Silent AuctionPlace:   Granite Bay Golf Club

Participant Pricing:
$150 per person – Golf Tournament includes lunch, golf, cart, on-course beverages, prizes, dinner, dancing and silent auction
$45 per person – Dinner Dance includes dinner, dancing and silent auction

Welcome to Acres of Hope

Acres of Hope is a faith-based based renewal center serving at-risk women with children by providing them with a home and an environment of structured programming. Located in the beautiful Sierra Foothills, Acres of Hope’s unique approach allows residents to live onsite for up to two years while staff and volunteers invest heavily in their lives by providing encouragement, practical life-skills training, job skills, mentoring and spiritual direction.

Marcelle Schaefer – Executive Director

Our Executive Director
Welcome to our new Executive Director, Marcelle Schaefer! Marcelle brings to Acres of Hope a strong faith, ministry experience, business acumen and a healthy respect and passion for the program at Acres of Hope. Marcelle not only has extensive experience in ministry and working in a non profit organization, but also brings a background in H.R., finance and personnel development. Marcelle holds a B.A. in Sociology, an M.A. in Career Development, and is credentialed as an Associate in Ministry of the ELCA. Her most recent learning adventure included participation in an international study cohort through Fuller Seminary, in which she studied theology and culture in an on-line community with colleagues around the globe. Marcelle and her husband, John, were married in 1992 and are blessed with strong family connections. John holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Development and is now retired. His ministry is focused on volunteering in community service roles. John and Marcelle enjoy family, friends, long walks and classic films.
